Hey Home Groupies! I am quite excited to be blogging:)
This one will be quick since I am already running late for work. So, I wanted to get some book suggestions from those who are interested in Book and Brew starting Monday...is this Monday too soon? I'm ready if you are:) Anyway, my first thought was lame in the sense that I think everyone has read it - CS Lewis The Screwtape Letters. I will say that Josh suggested Here I Stand: A Life of Martin Luther which is a biography (naturally), and he said he thought it might be a great starting point.
Also, Kyle suggested some books by his fav author who, for the life of me, I can't remember but his name reminded me of Ted Bundy. To be clear, his name is NOT Ted Bundy, but I think the "Ted" part is right.
OK...so do any of you have thoughts on the above mentioned books, or a suggestion of your own?

I'm excited by the great conversation that we will engage in while doing a book 'n brew of this sort.
Let me know what you think!
J

Hi Jenn with two N's. Monday is great for me. Mandy, Katie and I have typically worked out on Monday after work, so are you thinking this would start at 7:30ish and go to 9:30ish? I am up for any of those books. I have the ones you recommended. CS Lewis would make for great discussion but so would the Martin Luther book. I'm flexible. Sounds like fun.

I think both books sound great, too. I'm guessing it will probably be easier to find copies of Screwtape Letters before Monday than the biography, though. Maybe we could do the bio second? I'm excited about both - I haven't finished Screwtape Letters and have been super interested in learning more about Luther.

Oh - Ted Dekker is the author (or "arthur" as I used to hear when I worked at Half Price) that Kyle was talking about.

I know this sounds lame, but I just started reading "for fun" so I know that any book you pick, I have not read. So, needless to say I'm good with whatever.

Can I invite my sister to join us? She also attends the Villiage and leads a single womens small group, but is searching for friendships.

The invitation is totally open...the more the merrier! I think the timing can be whatever works for people...a 7:30 start sounds great, and we can go until 8:30 or 9:00 - whatever gets the job done. I'll look for the Luther bio to see if it is easily available as a choice.

So Jenn with 2 n's - how will this work, should we come prepared with book in hand and chapters read and deep questions to ask? Am I being lame? I've been told before "silly, you don't really read in book clubs, you drink wine and talk!!" so I wanted to make sure that I was prepared!! :)
